Blue Coffee Box Giveaway

January 24, 2018 By All That I'm Eating 24 Comments

Coffee is a pretty serious business in our house. We don’t have just any old beans in the cupboard. I love trying out different varieties, different countries and roasters but I don’t always have time to go and find something I haven’t tried before. So when the guys from Blue Coffee Box got in touch to see if I’d like to try out their coffee it sounded right up my street!

three different types of coffee in blue coffee box

Each month you get three different coffees delivered through your letterbox and the packaging is just lovely. I noticed that everything, other than the coffee bags which are foil lined, was made from paper or card so it could be easily recycled. As you can imagine, the smell when you open the box is just heavenly.

You can choose the grind of coffee you want depending on how you make your coffee at home; our fancy coffee machine only accepts espresso ground so it was great to be able to get the right size needed.

blue coffee box coffee and cards

I really like the clean, simple packaging and the information cards that are sent through for each type so you can find out about the coffee you’ve got. The three I tried were from El Salvador, Peru and Guatemala. On the cards you can find out what the coffee tastes like, who roasted it, the variety(ies), the altitude it was grown at and a little story about each of the coffee growing farms. For example the Guatemalan coffee (Red de Mujeres) is grown by a large group of female coffee growers; the Peruvian coffee (Tunki) is grown in the Andes without pesticides and chemicals and the coffee from El Salvador (Finca Bosque Lya) is grown on a farm which is two thirds dedicated to coffee and one third natural rainforest.

Wish I was in the UK to try the blue coffee box, it sounds like a great coffee. I get a monthly granola box that I love in Canada and it is made right here in my city. These boxes are fun.

I would so do this here if I could get beans delivered once a month. It saves us the hassle of going to get them, and offers something new each month. Such a great idea!

  • These turnovers make use of all manner of Christmas leftovers: cheese, pickles and butter. This particular batch were smoked cheddar and pickled onion. The recipe is really versatile so you can use whatever cheese, pickle, chutney or whatever else you fancy and have lying around. #leftovers #ChristmasFood #turnovers #smokedcheddar #pickledonions #allthatimeating #christmasleftovers #decembereats #cheeseandonion
  • New recipe up on the blog! For those of us who like mincemeat, just not too much of it. These are my Mince Pie Crumble Bars, mostly shortbread with a slathering of mince meat and a deliciously crumbly top. • Christmas music on, production line assembled, homemade Christmas gifts go! I love making these to give as gifts; using up old jars, candy cane string and paper labels. I won't lie, I always do a whisk and taste test myself first. At least once. It's the malted drink powder that makes them 👌. Recipe for these is on the blog, just search 'hot chocolate'. #foodgiftideas #hotchocolate #homemadegifts #foodgifts #allthatimeating #handmadegifts #christmasfood #decemberdrinks #besthotchocolate
  • Hmmm. Ever so slightly too wide for the gap but looking adorned, sparkly and smelling lovely. Nothing matches on the tree, much like the rest of the house. Decorations from Kenya, Sweden, Bakewell and all sorts of other places. Put up a few days earlier than usual but we’re making up for no tree last year! #christmastree #mismatched #decoratingforchristmas #allthatimeating #smellssogood #christmaslights #fullofmemories
  • I ‘made’ this wreath a few years ago now. I say made, I mean I glued some @innocent smoothie hats to a willow wreath. I like that it’s colourful and uses the hats that I otherwise didn’t know what to do with. Apart from keeping dippy eggs warm. #christmaswreath #innocentsmoothiehat #homemadewreath #upcycled #minibobblehats #feelingfestive🎄 #colourfulwreath
  • Little bites of Christmas. Rolling these chocolate truffles in crushed pistachios makes them almost look like sprouts! Dark chocolate mixed with cranberries for a festive treat. Recipe is over on the blog, just search 'truffle'! #truffles #foodgifts #chocolatetruffles #homemadegifts #cranberrychocolate #allthatimeating #decembereats #christmasrecipes #pistachio
