I tried the quiche of the day which was salmon and courgette and as it turns out, I quite like quiche. A lifetime of avoiding any quiche apart from my Granny’s was over. The pastry was crisp and crumbly, the filling soft but not mushy or overly eggy, well seasoned and a generous amount of salmon. I’m a quiche convert.
The salted caramel cake that followed was sublime; made by a lady called Mama Brown. The wedge I had was huge (as all sweet things should be!) and the caramel on top of the cake and in between the layers tasted great; without that strange caramel flavour you can sometimes get. Being well satisfied just gave me another excuse to peruse the shop; I saw it as ‘walking it off’!
Thank you to The Good Life for my lunch. All opinions and words expressed are my own.
That’s a beautiful quiche, Caroline. Salmon and squash..a perfect combo.
I’m in line! I want a piece of the salmon quiche and a wedge of the caramel cake too! 🙂 ela@GrayApron
I would like that caramel cake.. 😀
I had a salmon quiche yesterday for lunch, and it was quite nice. And that caramel cake sounds terrific!
I love quiche, but just not Salmon and Courgette. (I don’t any fish, and courgettes are amongst my least favoutite vegetables!). I prefer bacon and onion, or broccoli and leek.
Yum! The quiche and the cake look fabulous…I have never had salmon in quiche…seeing this made me wanted to try.
Have a great week Caroline 😀
Wow, I want this quiche so much 😀
Cheers

When it comes to sweets, huge is a small serving. 😉 Sounds like a great quiche! I haven’t had a quiche in ages, and I don’t think I’ve ever had salmon in a quiche. Sounds like a tasty idea!
caramel cake is almost always tremendous because people who take the time to make it must understand how special it is! nice find!
